Well as far my exposure to various distros Slackware is the one that got on the my blood … I felt a connection between me a the philosophy of Slackware , Slackware aims at its stability and simplicity .“Slack, which generally stands for the sense of freedom, independence, and original thinking that comes when you achieve your personal goals”.So definitely the meaning Slackware is obvious .Well usage till now reveled that its no easy for a newbie to use Slackware … Due to its strick UNIX biasing .. Well my intentions of using this particular distro was something else .. I wanted to learn GNU/Linux from its raw form .. Well Slackware does provide an environment for learning GNU/Linux.. . Learning Linux means not the Linux kernel as such but the GNU utilities which varies from (a-z) he he … 
Some Reason to choose Slackware
- If you are planing to learn GNU/Linux as such
- If you want to tweak each and every settings your self I don’t say other distros don’t allow it but when it comes to configuration you are on your own in Slackware
- If you wana set up a good server (file,mail.. any)
- if you are a fan of simplicity
- if you have a killer instinct to solve issues that arise
I don’t say Slackware really touch thing to conquer. Once you understand the UNIX philosophy you will certainly have some momentum . So once again i say Slackware is the best one I have come across for the purpose of learning GNU/Linux .Of course Its still powerful for other purposes . One thing to keep in mind is that once u install Slackware you are on your on for the tweaking you will also get online help too..If you want any assistance regarding Slackware you may contact me at althafispure@gmail.com

It was my sisters old computer, which always worked fine for her but when put it in my room it no longer works properly. Every time I run “Malwarebytes” or “Spybot Search and Destroy” or my “Mcafee virus scan” in SAFE MODE it goes so far after finding “ErrorSmart” Malware then gives me Blue screen of Death. I have a Dell Latitude Laptop using Windows XP. I took it to Geek Squad because it was skipping and the freezing up when I played DVDs or any kind of audio. When it freezes I have to turn it off witut shutting it down. It also wouldn’t freeze right away..it freezes into about 10 minutes of playing the DVD. It was also making weird noises when it froze. Best Buy informed me that the noise wasn’t any hardware issue, but the kind of noise the computer makes when it’s frozen. They said nothing was wrong hardware wise, and that I had 6 viruses on the laptop. Well now, all those viruses are removed, and my laptop is still skipping and freezing when I play DVDs..to the point where I have to turn off the computer without shutting it down. Also, now it freezes and makes a weird noises when I’m not playing any audio. If it’s not viruses, and geek squad said everything is fine with the computer physically, then what is it? Ok, so i got trojan horse the other day. And for some reason the AVG i used wouldn’t work, so i tried to use other products but Trojan Horse would free them. So i Re-booted my computer with my CD (that means re-install my computer.. like when off the box) so does the trojan horse still have my credit cards? Whenever I try to uninstall Spy Sweeper, I get a prompt saying the uninstall program doesn’t exist (same result whether I do this through Start menu or Add or Remve Programs). I DLed Ccleaner and Revo but they don’t uninstall it either. I also tried reinstalling and then uninstalling but the installation cannot be completed because of an error. Using the cd won’t do the trick either; it cannot complete installation (error message). What may have caused this is a recent system restore that I had executed to prevent the progression of a virus after Spy Sweeper had already been uninstalled (I think). I’m not sure but is it possible that that had something to do with it? Please help me get rid of this crappy program.
